SAP Unveils Updates to Growing Product Line of Cloud Offerings

HANOVER, Germany (March 06, 2012) –  SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced several key updates across its growing portfolio of cloud offerings, including line-of-business application services and its cloud suite, the SAP Business ByDesign® solution. New and existing customers alike are responding to the company’s set of cloud solutions, including SAP® Sourcing OnDemand, SAP® Sales OnDemand and the newest offering, SAP® Travel OnDemand. The announcement was made at CeBIT 2012, being held March 6-10 in Hanover, Germany.

STULZ Air Adopts SAP Travel OnDemand for Mobile Workforce

Designed to let business people travel smarter, spend better and get reimbursed faster while staying in compliance with corporate policies, SAP Travel OnDemand is now available in Germany and the United States. Following a successful pilot project, STULZ Air, a leading global manufacturer of innovative cooling technologies, is among the first customers to adopt the solution across its sales and service organization. The company expects to go live within a few weeks.

Update of SAP Business ByDesign Broadens Large Enterprise and Industry Capabilities

The first 2012 update of SAP Business ByDesign is now generally available and delivers additional capabilities for large enterprise and focus industries. As larger clients adopt the solution for their subsidiary operations in increasing numbers, SAP Business ByDesign continues to broaden its capabilities and integration scenarios for subsidiaries, as well as implementing additional SAP® Best Practices packages to lower risk and provide greater consistency than ever before. SAP Business ByDesign clients can now adapt and configure the system to industries without customization, and customers can access the system from anywhere via mobile and Web devices.

New enhancements in the latest release of SAP Business ByDesign include:

  • Additional iPad and iPhone support: Sales catalog, account management, lead and opportunity management, as well as time and expense management are now available for mobile users.
  • Enhanced professional service provider capabilities: New features include enhanced billing methods for customer projects, enhanced revenue recognition rules for customer contracts and advanced earned value analysis for projects and enhanced resource management. These features will help add value to both project-based firms and managed service providers.
  • More support for distribution and manufacturing businesses: New capabilities such as third-party logistics, complete delivery, identified stock logistics and sub-material valuation are now available.
  • Additional partner-provided micro-vertical solutions: Globally, more than 120 partner-provided solutions for SAP Business ByDesign are currently available on SAP® Store.
  • Broadened large-enterprise subsidiary integration scenarios: SAP is launching a new pilot program for tighter integration of SAP Business ByDesign with corporate HR and analytics of large companies, a growing market segment for the cloud suite.

New Wave of SAP Sourcing OnDemand Provides Standard Integration With SAP® SRM

The latest release of SAP Sourcing OnDemand, wave 9, delivers on standard integration with the SAP® Supplier Relationship Management (SAP SRM) application to help enable greater compliance and cost savings opportunities for customers. Designed with the sourcing professional in mind, the new release of SAP Sourcing OnDemand includes features that enhance usability and drive more competitive sourcing, offering customers the opportunity for greater efficiency. The solution enables customers to effectively execute strategic sourcing, contract management and supplier management — all areas integral to lowering customers’ overall business costs.

proseed Adopts SAP Sales OnDemand; Wave 3 to Bring to Market New Salesperson-Centric Capabilities

Released in mid-2011 and designed from the ground up to empower salespeople to sell more effectively, SAP Sales OnDemand continues on a rapid pace of innovation, with a third release in nine months forthcoming. The cloud solution is gaining traction among SAP customers, including proseed GmbH, an industry-leading online marketing and consulting company. proseed recently selected SAP Sales OnDemand to help address its sales organization’s unique needs, and arm them with a simple, mobile and user-friendly application that adds value throughout every step of the sales process.

Features planned for inclusion in the forthcoming wave 3 of SAP Sales OnDemand include:

  • Support for Android, the fastest-growing mobile OS, which further expands the mobile offering and enables salespeople to stay up-to-date on key sales information from their preferred mobile devices at no extra cost.
  • New “what-if” scenarios to provide salespeople with laser focus on what actions will help them achieve their quotas faster.
  • Support for Italian and Portuguese languages.

SAP today also announced the SAP® Business One OnDemand solution, a new cloud offering that aims to build upon the broad market success of the SAP Business One application, addressing small enterprise preferences for minimal up-front cost and lower IT operations.
