Murauer Bier Selects Lawson Software

Lawson partner Terna to implement Lawson M3 ERP system to help optimize business processes at Austria-based brewerer

Hilden, Germany (May 12, 2009) – Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN) today announced that the centuries-old Austrian beer producer Marau has licensed the Lawson M3 Enterprise Management System to help support its growth strategy and increased market demand. Terna, a Lawson channel partner covering the Central-European region, will implement the Lawson M3 system at the six brewery sites of Murau across Austria. The Lawson M3 system will run on an IBM platform. The contract was signed during the fourth quarter of Lawson’s 2009 fiscal year, which ends May 31, 2009.

Murau has been a traditionally run brewery for more than 500 years. The company, serving primarily the Austrian and Italian markets with its Murauer beer currently produces more than 300.000 hectoliters or 30,000 bottles per year. Being confronted with increasing demand, stringent legislation related to product safety and product traceability, fiercer competition and logistic challenges, the company is extending its business and market development. “To efficiently meet the changing market requirements, we needed to replace the current system with an integrated and industry-specific ERP system, geared toward improved business processes, sales and customer service, said Josef Rieber, managing director at Murau. “For example, we need sales reports much faster and readily available. Lawson impressed us with the Lawson M3 system, a user-friendly solution with a great functional fit to our business needs combined with Lawson’s proven implementation methodology, Rieber continued. “In addition, Terna has demonstrated a great track record. We rely on their competence and support in helping bring this implementation project successfully operational at Murau.

“We are pleased that Murau has selected Terna to help optimize its business processes further and mark yet another milestone in the company’s long and well respected brewery history, added Peter Bereiter, managing director at Terna.

The Lawson M3system at Murau will include a number of business applications that will help address core and supporting business processes including procurement, finance, customer sales and service, supply chain, and service and rental for proper management of dispensing equipment. Future plans encompass the implementation of Lawson mobility solutions to provide field service personnel with real-time, relevant and accurate information.

“We look forward to a fruitful collaboration with our partner Terna in bringing value to our customer, and to help them increase their well-respected and established market share and reputation of a brewery company with a great tradition, concluded Karl Hinterholzer, managing director at Lawson in Austria.
