Logility Customer Berry Plastics Honored as a 2011 Progressive Manufacturer by Managing Automation

Prestigious PM 100 Recognizes Leading Manufacturer’s Collaborative Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Initiative

ATLANTA (May 18, 2011) – Logility, Inc., a leading supplier of collaborative solutions to optimize the supply chain, announced today that Berry Plastics has been named one of Managing Automation’s 2011 Progressive Manufacturers for their success increasing visibility, improving forecast accuracy and removing cost from the supply chain through the timely acquisition and use of demand signals with Logility Voyager Solutions(TM).

The Progressive Manufacturing 100 Awards (PM 100) recognizes projects that have achieved distinction in at least one of the eight core disciplines defined by Managing Automation Media as critical to business success in the years ahead. These disciplines are: Business Model Mastery, Customer Mastery, Supply Network Mastery, Data & Integration Mastery, Innovation Mastery, Education and Training Mastery, Leadership Mastery, and Operational Excellence.

Berry Plastics, a global manufacturer and supplier of plastic packaging, has grown rapidly in the past decade supplying many of North America’s top brand and private label manufacturers. To support its continued growth, Berry Plastics realized it needed more consistent processes, a common supply chain planning platform and more comprehensive visibility across the business. The company saw the need to institute a collaborative vendor managed inventory (VMI) program to proactively engage with and better serve its customers. This process drove improved forecasts and reduced costs throughout the supply chain. Through its use of Logility Voyager Solutions, Berry Plastics was also able to reduce inventory, accelerate inventory turns and increase sales.

“We are proud of the success that Berry Plastics has achieved with the deployment of Logility Voyager Solutions and are honored to be a partner in their achievements,” said Mike Edenfield, president and CEO, Logility. “Berry Plastics has taken innovative steps to build a stronger, more collaborative supply chain to ensure profitable growth. We congratulate the Berry Plastics team on their achievements and recognition as a prestigious PM 100 Award winner.”
