Bergene Holm and Five Other Norwegian Wood-Products Manufacturers Select IFS Applications

LULEÅ, Sweden (June 30, 2011) – Regulatory News:

A group of six Norwegian wood-products manufacturers, including Bergene Holm, has selected IFS Applications (STO:IFSA)(STO:IFSB) for Wood Manufacturing to streamline operations. In connection with the contract, IFS and Skog-Data have entered into a partnership agreement, in which IFS delivers licences and implementation services while Skog-Data is responsible for operation and support. The contract has a value of NOK 17 million and IFS expects to deliver the project in 2012.

IFS will deliver a complete ERP solution to six Norwegian wood-products manufacturers: Bergene Holm, Begna Bruk, Eidskog-Stangeskovene, Kjeldstad Holding, Inntre, and Romerike Trelast. The solution includes IFS Applications components for financials, distribution, document management, manufacturing, and mobile clients for warehouse operations.

Together with Skog-Data, IFS delivers a complete solution, including software, services, support, and operation of the system. IFS aims to offer the best industry solutions on the market in targeted segments. Through its partnership with Skog-Data, IFS ensures that deep industry knowledge and experience from customers’ operations are incorporated in the solution. According to the agreement, Skog-Data will operate the solution as well as deliver first-line support.

The six companies’ operations vary in size and complexity, and the new solution therefore had to prove its flexibility and scalability. Being fully component-based, IFS Applications can easily be adapted to operations of varying size and with different structures.

For Bergene Holm, IFS’s long-term focus on new technology and industry functionality was a crucial factor when selecting the new solution.

“IFS has a proven track record within our industry, including successful deliveries to Moelven Industrier for many years. IFS’s consultants have shown world-class industry competence and this, together with their being located close to our operations, has been important in our choice. IFS Applications is a fully-integrated industry solution based on modern technology and we expect our new system to further increase our efficiency and improve our communication with the building-material chains,” says Øyvind Eriksen, CFO Bergene Holm.

“The cooperation with Skog-Data exemplifies how IFS strengthens its industrial competence through partners. The industry solution from IFS combined with the industry knowledge from Skog-Data will be at the center of an international initiative towards the wood-manufacturing industry. IFS has delivered business solutions to manufacturers of wood products for many years. As part of our ambition to do product development in close connection with customers, Moeleven and IFS have developed a standard solution for the wood-materials industry. We are pleased that a steadily growing number of companies choose this solution and see this as a proof of our industry excellence for such operations,” says Glenn Arnesen, CEO IFS Scandinavia.
