Accenture Wins Oracle Titan Awards for Business Intelligence and Public Sector Solutions

Recognition underscores Accenture’s global position as one of Oracle’s leading partners

NEW YORK (September 20, 2010) – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) today announced it has received two Oracle PartnerNetwork North America Titan Awards for its work in public sector and business intelligence/data warehousing. The awards were announced at the annual Oracle OpenWorld conference, which kicked off Sunday in San Francisco.

The awards recognize business partners for innovative and successful uses of Oracle technology. Winners are selected for excellence in solving real-world customer challenges and for their development and deployment of Oracle technology.

“This is an exciting time to be working with Oracle and we’re thrilled to be awarded for work in such significant parts of our business,” said Terri Strauss, managing director, North America Oracle Practice. “We’re proud that our teams go to work every day not to just deliver a solution, but to solve real-world challenges that our clients are facing. It’s rewarding to see how much their contribution makes a difference.”

Accenture, which also received three honorable mentions, was cited for:

Industry Solution Award for the Public Sector: Accenture helped the State of Ohio design, build and implement Ohio Shared Services (OSS), the first state government shared services organization for financial processes and transactions. Based on an Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise solution, this pioneering program resulted in greater efficiency and consistency when delivering the State’s key business processes. The solution is attracting attention from budget-strapped states across the country.

Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing Award: Accenture helped the State of Georgia’s Division of Family and Children Services improve child welfare delivery using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition to drive actionable reporting. The Family Division has improved its coordination across the State, improved its accountability and can more closely monitor children under State supervision, improving the lives of Georgia’s at-risk children and families with one of the most advanced child welfare systems in the country.

“Ohio Shared Services is transforming the way we do business, and I believe it is a model that will prove effective throughout the public sector,” Ronn Kolbash, Deputy Director of the Ohio Office of Budget and Management.

Accenture was awarded three honorable mentions for:

  • The Sun SPARC server category, for helping a major branch of the Armed Services deploy one of the world’s largest financial systems to a Sun SPARC platform.
  • The healthcare/education industry category, for helping a pharmaceutical company develop a new contact center using Oracle’s Siebel Pharma Contact Center.
  • Technology momentum, which recognizes Accenture’s efforts to increase customer acceptance and market share of Oracle Database and Oracle Fusion Middleware.

Accenture has won nine Titan Awards since the program was launched in 2004. This year’s winners were selected from over 176 nominations in 23 categories submitted by Oracle business partners. Accenture received the awards at a special ceremony hosted by Jeff Henley, Oracle’s executive chairman of the board, and Ted Bereswill, senior vice president, North America Sales, Alliances & Channels, as part of the kick-off events for Oracle OpenWorld.
