Company celebrates one-year anniversary in Singapore with preview of S3 solutions
SINGAPORE (May 10, 2007) – Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN) today announced the launch of S3 Enterprise Management System in Asia in conjunction with its first-year anniversary celebration in Singapore. Lawson S3 Enterprise Management System is one of the two flagship Lawson Software product lines, the other being Lawson M3 Enterprise Management System. Since the merger of Lawson and Intentia in April 2006, Lawson Software Asia Pacific has achieved growth in new customers, partners and employees.
The Lawson and Intentia merger aimed to establish Lawson Software as a strong, global leader in the enterprise software market. The new Lawson has an ambitious regional growth strategy for Asia Pacific. “We have put in an aggressive plan to triple Asia Pacific’s contribution to the company’s total revenue, from the current 5 per cent to 15 per cent. This target is achievable with the increasing demand for our software in Asia Pacific and our strategic growth plans. said David Hope, Regional Managing Director, Lawson Software Asia and Japan.
As one of the top strategic regions, Lawson Software Asia Pacific has been aligning its operations to meet the anticipated demand for its solutions from businesses across key vertical industries across the region. In November 2006, Lawson Software launched the Lawson Philippine Solution and Services Center (PSSC) in Metro Manila, one of Lawson Software’s key Global Support Centers providing direct customer support to Lawson Software’s 4000 customers globally covering the S3 and M3 product lines, research and development, professional services, and internal shared services.
“We have over 350 employees in Manila and just under 600 employees in Asia Pacific. This demonstrates not only the commitment Lawson Software has to its customers in Asia Pacific; it also shows the overwhelming demand for our solutions from the market which we need to fulfill. Following the merger, Lawson Software Asia Pacific has more than doubled the number of sales headcounts since September 2006. Some key customers wins include the Hong Kong Stock Exchange-listed fashion giant, Hembly International Holdings Limited in China and Kansai Paint Singapore, a major manufacturer, marketer and technical service centre for paint customers in South East Asia.
Lawson S3 Enterprise Management System is designed for service industries that need to Staff, Source and Serve. The applications enable companies in the healthcare, retail, financial, and public service industries in the management of supply chain, human capital and financial enterprise. Lawson S3 solutions are differentiated by the focus on integrated, industry-specific functionality and a commitment to open standards, which enables greater flexibility and a lower cost of ownership. Lawson S3 solutions were previously only available in the United States and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Americas) before the birth of new Lawson.
“The Asian market is ready for Lawson S3 solutions. Not only have we delivered some two dozen new products including the largest release of M3 solutions (formerly Movex), we are now well-positioned to introduce the Lawson S3 product line into the region to meet the specific needs of service industries who need powerful ERP solutions that are simple to implement with all the TCO benefits. said Hope.
Lawson Software Asia Pacific has most recently launched the Lawson Human Capital Management (HCM), a S3 solution at the HR Summit 2007 in Singapore on 9 May 2007. Lawson Human Capital Management brings organizational excellence to a higher level by empowering organizations and their human resource departments with applications for business operations that maximize human resource contribution and potential.
